When the snow piles up, a shovel won't cut it. We clear driveways, long rural lanes, shop yards and small lots with equipment, and we can move the piles so there's room for the next storm.
Snow Removal in Caldwell and the Treasure Valley
Treasure Valley winters don't bring snow every day, but when a storm hits, it can shut down a driveway for days. Long rural lanes drift in. Wet snow gets heavy fast. And a plow pile at the end of the drive can block you in after the road crew has gone by.
We do snow removal around Caldwell, Nampa, Meridian, Middleton, Star, Kuna, Parma, Homedale, Eagle and Boise. The same crew and equipment that dig and grade for us in the rest of the year clear snow in the winter.
What We Clear
- Residential driveways, including long and steep ones
- Rural lanes and private roads
- Shop yards, barn lots and equipment pads
- Small business parking lots and entrances
- Access to a job site or a new build in winter
Long Lanes and Acreage
A quarter-mile driveway takes a lot more than a snow shovel and a good attitude. Wind drifts snow across open ground, and one night of blowing can fill a lane that was clear in the afternoon. A machine handles it far better than a shovel. If you live out of town and the county road crew doesn't reach you, tell us how long your lane is, where it runs and where you want the snow to go.
Moving and Hauling Piles
By midwinter, snow has to go somewhere. Piles at the edge of a drive grow with every storm, shrink the clear space and make it hard to see traffic. We can push piles back and stack them higher, and if the lot has no room, we can load the snow and haul it off. Where it can be dumped depends on the property, and we'll talk through that with you. Our bulk material hauling page covers other hauling work.
Protecting Your Property
The goal is to clear the snow without damaging what's under it. Before a storm, mark the edges of the driveway with stakes or flags so they're easy to see under a foot of snow. Tell us where sprinkler heads, septic lids, mailboxes, curbs, landscape rock and low walls are, because we can't see them either. On gravel, we keep the blade up and leave a thin layer of snow so the gravel stays in the driveway. Compacted snow and ice can be left alone until it softens and comes off easier.
Shop Yards and Small Business Lots
Work yards and small lots have a few extra things to plan around: entrances, loading areas, signs, drains and fire hydrants all need to stay reachable. We can clear before opening hours if that's what the schedule needs, and we'll talk through where to stack snow so it doesn't block parking, sight lines or drainage. Meltwater runs back across the lot, so piles that sit on a drain or against a building cause trouble in the next thaw.
Getting Ready
- Move vehicles, trailers and equipment out of the way
- Mark the driveway and any hazards
- Tell us where you want the snow put and where you don't
- Know whether the road, an HOA or a neighbor has rules on where snow can go
Pricing and Scheduling
How much the work costs depends on the size of the area, how much snow fell and how much time it takes. We'll give you a number before we start, as we do on every job. Winter work is weather-driven, so we recommend calling before the first big storm to talk through what makes sense for your property and what we can schedule. Call early rather than during the storm, when everyone is calling at once.
More Than a Winter Service
Snow is one season of the work we do. When spring comes, the same crew can help with drainage, grading, ditches and driveway repairs that winter exposed. Our excavation and grading and drainage excavation pages explain what we do the rest of the year.
